Millions of Americans continue to experience long-term symptoms following COVID-19 infection. Some of these symptoms, like fatigue, difficulty concentrating, headaches, and migraines, may interfere with people’s ability to work. Unfortunately, this may lead to some long COVID patients reducing their hours, taking medical leave, or exiting the workforce altogether if they cannot work. As a potentially disabling condition, long COVID represents a threat to the labor market and the financial stability of millions of American families.
On December 1, 2023, Pandemic Patients hosted a webinar titled “Long COVID in the Workplace” to explore the challenges long COVID patients face at work and how employers can support them.
Attendees learned about the lived experiences of long COVID patients and potential solutions employers can implement to ensure their employees with long COVID can continue to participate in the workforce. This also offered the perfect opportunity for long COVID patients to learn more about the workplace resources available to them. This event also provided employers and HR professionals the opportunity to learn more about strategies they can use to support employees with long COVID.
