“I am experiencing disabling long-term symptoms of COVID-19, including chronic fatigue and cognitive impairment. I am concerned that my symptoms will impact my job performance. How should I address this with my employer?”

On Nov. 3, 2022, Pandemic Patients joined other disability advocates to request that Congressional leadership ensure full funding for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in FY 2023.

“I have long COVID and I am currently unable to work. I am on a workers’ compensation leave of absence and I am concerned that my employer is going to terminate my position if I do not go back to work soon. Is my job protected while I am receiving workers’ compensation benefits?”

On Oct. 31, 2022, Pandemic Patients joined with COVID Survivors for Change and Long COVID Families to submit a letter of support for California’s proposed Safety Orders.

“I was exposed to COVID-19 at work several months ago. Because I only experienced mild symptoms, I didn’t file a workers’ compensation claim. I have recently started experiencing symptoms of long COVID, including chronic fatigue and cognitive impairment, and I am unable to work. Can I file a workers’ compensation claim?”

“After I received the COVID-19 vaccine, I developed a new health condition immediately afterward, and it hasn’t resolved. The condition is very uncomfortable, and my doctors and pharmacists cannot identify what caused it. What should I do?”

On October 12, 2022, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) amended the Emergency Use Authorizations (EUAs) for the bivalent COVID-19 vaccine boosters, making them available to children.

“If I get exposed to COVID-19 at work, can I file a claim for workers’ compensation?”

On September 30, 2022, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed AB 2098 into law. This new law will subject physicians and surgeons to discipline by the state’s medical boards if they spread misinformation or disinformation about COVID-19.
