The coronavirus pandemic has generated complex and challenging legal issues that threaten the financial security and stability of American individuals and families across the country. Many Americans are presented with these challenges at a time when the long-term symptoms of COVID-19 have limited their functional capacity or prevented them from working altogether.

The Pandemic Legal Assistance Network (PLAN) is a national network of attorneys who have volunteered to provide pro bono assistance to individuals who have been affected by COVID-19. Individuals who need legal help can use the form below to apply to participate in the program. Pandemic Patients will work with applicants to match them with an attorney who can provide pro bono legal assistance. An individual’s participation in the program will depend on the availability of attorneys in their state who have agreed to participate in PLAN.

PLAN provides legal assistance on the following topics:

  • Disability benefits
  • Disability discrimination
  • Occupational safety and health
  • Workers’ compensation
  • Workplace retaliation

Additional types of assistance may be available on a case-by-case basis.

Depending on the type of help you need, a lawyer may represent you on a contingency basis. This will allow you to get competent representation without being responsible for any initial costs. However, this approach requires you to compensate your attorney with a percentage of your final award if your claim is successful.
